Environment

Redpin, publishers of South East Rider are committed to trying to reduce our environmental impact in any way we can by becoming more efficient as a business and looking for technical solutions to assist us in this challenge.

We have a well established scheme of recycling at our offices, waste paper is recycled and confidential information is shredded and then composted. Staff members are encouraged to recycle, reduce and re-use wherever possible.

South East Rider is printed on paper produced by a mill that is accredited with the Nordic Swan, ISO 14001 and EMAS. The paper is manufactured using pulps from sustainable forests. This means that for every tree cut at least three more are planted in its place.

In 2007 we reduced the impact of distribution by working closely with our printers, distributors and production team. Through the alteration of our print schedule, our six magazines are now dispatched in just two deliveries to a central distribution point, from there they are delivered through a national carrier ensuring that single journeys are avoided and the magazines are delivered as part of a route.

South East Rider is also published in a paperless format using the latest in page turning software. This has increased the availability of the magazine to new readers and without the impact of additional paper copy and association distribution impact.
